  • Salt & fertiliser burn:
    • Cause & Symptoms: Blackened, dead root tips and brown leaf-tip burn from accumulated fertiliser salts, over-strong feeding, or hard water in the medium.
    • Correction Strategy: Feed ‘weakly, weekly’ with a dilute balanced orchid fertiliser, flush the medium periodically with plain water to leach salts, and use rain or low-mineral water where possible. Repot if the medium is heavily salt-encrusted or degraded.
