Cultural care and sanitation come first with these bare-root orchids. Keep horticultural oil and insecticidal soap for scale, mealybugs and mites, blue sticky traps and spinosad for thrips, a copper bactericide/fungicide for soft rot and black rot, and iron-phosphate bait for snails. Sterile cutting blades and good airflow are as important as any spray.
