For allium pests, reach first for insecticidal soap, horticultural/neem oil and spinosad (thrips, leek moth, leafminer), insect mesh/floating row cover as a physical barrier, blue sticky traps for thrips monitoring, reflective mulch, and beneficial nematodes for soil maggots and larvae. For disease, use protectant copper or an approved downy-mildew/purple-blotch/rust fungicide, garden sulfur for rust, a spreader-sticker so spray clings to waxy leaves, and above all clean seed/sets plus long rotations.
