Choosing the Right Fertilizer
The right fertilizer depends far more on what you’re growing than on brand: fruiting plants generally want more potassium and phosphorus relative to nitrogen, leafy houseplants want the reverse, and container plants need feeding more often than plants in the ground because nutrients wash out with every watering. If you’re not sure what N-P-K numbers actually mean, start with N-P-K & Fertilizer Types Explained. Otherwise jump straight to your plant type: citrus & fruit trees, tomatoes & vegetables, or indoor houseplants.
