For disease, airflow and good drainage do most of the work, backed by a potassium-bicarbonate or sulphur spray for powdery mildew and a copper fungicide for leaf spot or downy mildew. On rosemary, favour hand-picking beetles, washing off spittle and aphids, and insecticidal soap for indoor whitefly and mites; observe harvest intervals before eating.
