Alocasia care centres on beating spider mites and rot: horticultural/neem oil and insecticidal soap (mites, mealybugs, scale, aphids), spinosad and blue sticky traps for thrips, and Bti or beneficial nematodes plus yellow sticky traps for fungus gnats. Raising humidity is itself a mite control. For disease, keep foliage dry, use a copper fungicide on leaf spot, and above all grow in a chunky, free-draining aroid mix with disciplined watering to prevent root and corm rot; a fungicide drench can protect a corm you have cut back. Water with rain or filtered water to avoid tip burn.
