Daffodils need little spraying: rely on clean firm bulbs, hot-water treatment for mites and nematodes, iron-phosphate slug bait, insecticidal soap for aphids, and a protectant fungicide only for persistent Botrytis smoulder. Standard trumpet/large-cup daffodils are very reliable and long-lived given good drainage.
