Autumn crocus (Colchicum autumnale) is a small cormous plant of 10-15 cm (4-6 in) that flowers leafless in the cool season. The grower does not rate it as a houseplant but confirms it grows well in pots and containers. It famously flowers even sitting dry on a windowsill, but that is a novelty, not houseplant culture.
