Disease, not insects, is the focus here: potassium-bicarbonate, sulfur or milk sprays for powdery mildew and rust, plus the cultural basics of full sun, wide spacing and base watering. For the occasional pest, a water jet, insecticidal soap or light neem oil covers aphids, flea beetles and mites. Sharp drainage is the best “product” against root rot.
