Bromeliads need only a light toolkit: rubbing alcohol on a swab and a soft cloth for scale and mealybug, insecticidal soap or a light horticultural oil (patch-test first) for crawlers, thrips and mites, blue/yellow sticky traps for monitoring, and a copper fungicide for leaf spot. For culture, a gritty free-draining bromeliad/orchid mix and rain or distilled water for the tank prevent most rot and tip-burn.
