- Cause & Symptoms: Grown in water, this Dracaena is acutely sensitive to fluoride and chlorine in tap water, which yellow and brown the leaf tips; stagnant, algae-fouled, or salt-laden water also rots the stalks and yellows the foliage.
- Correction Strategy: Use rainwater, distilled, or tap water left to stand 24 hours to off-gas chlorine; change the water every week or two and keep it topped up over the roots. Rinse pebbles and container periodically, and feed only very dilute fertiliser.
