For pests, use Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) or spinosad for webworm, horticultural and dormant oil plus insecticidal soap for psyllid and scale, and a miticide or oil for spider mite. Pruning tools for structure and for removing nests, cankers and dead wood do much of the work. Follow the label and protect pollinators.
